My Story

Hi, I’m Hazel, a mama, artist, and educator creating fun objects for spaces where curiosity, creativity, and learning through play are truly valued.

I’m a primary-trained teacher with a deep interest in human development. Growing up as one of five, with a 20-year gap between the oldest and youngest, I’ve seen firsthand how differently children learn. The teacher side of me has seen how often those opportunities are missed in many classrooms.

My work focuses on rethinking those spaces. Through intentional design and open-ended engaging environments, I aim to support learning that’s driven by exploration, not instruction.

After becoming a mum, this became personal. For me, education is about connection; being present, responsive, and deeply engaged in a child’s world from the very beginning. Which is why I followed my son into daycare and became his teacher.

Because play is never just play.

A stick on the ground isn’t just a stick, it’s a walking cane, a fairy wand, a chainsaw, a pool cue. The object doesn’t change the thinking does.

So the question is:

How are you shaping the environments that shape your child’s mind, and how are you nurturing their connection to learning?
